DISCOVER GRACE



Sunday, May 19 at 11 a. m.

Grace Presbyterian is a big church with so much going on, it can be easy to feel a little overwhelmed by it all. Discover Grace is designed for folks that are newer to Grace. It is an opportunity to meet with Pastor Julia, other staff, and deacons and to get know Grace Presbyterian Church through conversation. We will share about Grace's mission and vision and the opportunities to step into what we call the "Rhythm of Grace." We will answer questions you have and share about the ministries at and through Grace. Light refreshments and drinks will be provided. Children can attend the age appropriate Family Ministry gatherings during the reception time or you can bring you kids along with you. We will make sure they have an activity and a snack as well.

The next reception will be on Sunday, May 19 at 11 a. m. in Massey-Tucker Fellowship Hall-B. You can let us know you plan to attend HERE or simply drop in. The best way to enter the room is by using the exterior, middle double doors off of the courtyard.

Another Discover Grace will be held later in the summer on Sunday, July 21.




VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2024



The best week of the summer is coming soon-- June 10-13. Start the Party! Celebrate the Good News!

We can't take on such a big adventure without your help! We need donations to purchase crafts, supplies and snacks to fuel this great big journey. With your donation, hundreds of kids will get to hear about a BIG God who loves them more than they could ever imagine. They will learn how amazing it is to follow Jesus and live the way He taught us. You may make a gift HERE. In addition, the VBS Amazon wishlist is live HERE for you to help with supplies--it is your chance to buy six pounds of gummy bears, but only for a couple more days!

More than anything, though, we need YOU! There is always room for more adult and teen leaders to help out during the week! We are looking for fun-loving adults (at least 18-years-old) and teenagers  (entering seventh grade through entering college in the Fall of 2024) who love the Lord, love children, and are ready for the adventure of a lifetime. A fun and informational training session will be held on Sunday, June 2, from 4-6 p.m. in Massey-Tucker Fellowship Hall. Register HERE.




THE 5:10:5 PLAN



Given the financial reality we are in, the Session has recently adopted what we are calling The 5:10:5 Plan. These steps will allow Grace to be in the black in five years, and allow us to fulfill God's mission to make disciples by equipping every generation to share both God's good news and their everyday lives. As we implement The 5:10:5 Plan, we ask everyone to prayerfully discern taking the next right step.

1. For the first step, we are asking you, the congregation, to go before the Lord and discern increasing giving by 5%, which, for example, would mean a person giving a yearly gift of $5000 would add an additional $250 for the year. This cycle would repeat for five years.
2. The second part of the plan is a 10% increase in people who give, whether individuals or family units. This increase would be measured when new covenant partners and guests start giving for the first time, or if current partners are not giving regularly, we are hoping they will start. This will also repeat for five years.
3. After five years, we hope that you will have grown in your trust of the Lord and will have deepened your Discipleship journey. We are truly grateful for this collective effort to continue to do God's will with the gifts He has given us.

GOOD NEWS OF THE WEEK

We celebrate the things that we have offered to God that are bearing fruit-- We celebrate what God is doing!

Vacation Bible School takes A LOT of behind-the-scenes effort to make everything perfect for the hundreds of guests we will have on campus in a few weeks! Each week, we have about 15 ladies who come share their time on Tuesdays from 10 a.m.-noon to help us prepare for VBS, doing whatever is needed. All are invited to drop in at that time and share in preparing for the best week of the summer!

We continue the sermon series on Galatians this Sunday, looking at Galatians 5:16-25.

Sunday is Pentecost Sunday. We will praise God through music, prayer, and scripture and with a time for Children at the Chancel. We will also celebrate the sacrament of baptism.
