About

With Dolores by his side, Allan Wood spent countless hours for nearly 20 years building the Grace Golf Tournament into a successful fundraiser. Allan’s hard work generated almost half a million dollars for student missions during that time. The tournament continues to honor the Woods’ life and legacy with the same goal of providing needed funds for missions as well as church fellowship. It remains a great event to share with friends, coworkers, and neighbors to introduce them to the vision and mission of Grace Presbyterian Church.

This year’s tournament will benefit two mission partners who help make Jesus visible in Houston and Kenya.  Our missions focus for the tournament is on ministry organizations which are extremely effective and need to expand their base and bring awareness to a great need.  Partnership with the tournament gives them a chance to be recognized and achieve their next milestone.

  • Freedom Place

Freedom Place is a Christ-centered care and recovery center in Houston for underage victims of domestic child sex trafficking. It is the first long-term, comprehensive care facility in Texas for minors and is one of only five such facilities in the United States to provide psychological counseling, quality education, and “normal” activities to restore childhood. Their mission is to offer a successful path to freedom for children who have suffered as victims of commercial sexual exploitation.

  • Grace Girls High School in Kenya

Grace Girls High School in Kenya was built to both spread the Gospel and provide a place where female students are safe from abuse. Instead, these young women are educated to make a difference in Kenya.  Grace Presbyterian Church has partnered with missionary Stu Ross over many years in Kenya. He seeks to expand the dormitory space to increase the number of students and teachers whom the school can support. Stu feels passionately that if you educate a girl child, you educate a family and a community. Through Stu’s diligent work, our Kenyan friends are hearing the Gospel and experiencing transformation through spiritual, educational, and health efforts.
