Our Sanctuary Organ

In 1984, the seventy-seven rank Schantz pipe organ was installed and is still considered one of the finest organs in Houston, TX. From the softest whisper of the flute stops, to the declamatory shouts of the horizontal trumpets, the organ serves to inspire divine worship. In addition to accompanying various styles of choral music, the organ can effectively demonstrate literature of all periods. Grace’s organ is a living, breathing instrument that is used for celebrating, consecrating, and honoring the Christian life. As Mozart said, “Indeed, the organ is the king of all instruments.”

Our Chapel Organ

Originally installed in 1903 in Second Presbyterian Church, the twenty-seven rank Kimball/Möller pipe organ resides in Founders Chapel. Its sounds and timbres represent a bygone era in American organ building. It is estimated that much of the pipework dates from around 1896. Not many organs of this kind are still in existence. In addition to Sunday morning responsibilities, the chapel organ is primarily used for weddings, memorials, and other occasional services throughout the year.
