“So let’s do it – full of belief, confident that we’re presentable inside and out. Let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word. Let’s see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each other on, especially as we see the big day approaching.”
Hebrews 10:24-25 (The Message)
Dorothy is no stranger to the Grace Church family. She and her husband, Steve, have been members since 1987. Their adult children, Heath and Haley, were active in the children and youth ministries programs throughout their formative years.
Moreover, Dorothy served on the Session for six years and on the Grace staff two previous times, first as the Director of Recreational Ministries and later as the Director of Student Ministries. Recently, she retired from neighboring Pines Presbyterian Church where she served as the Director of the Preschool/Kindergarten for 10 years. It would be an understatement to say that she hit the ground running. The Lord has provided just the right person at just the right time to serve in this interim role.
Lindsey is a native Houstonian and graduate of Texas A&M. She also has received a M.A. in Transformational Urban Leadership from Azusa Pacific University. She has had the opportunity to minister and serve in several countries, including the Philippines where she lived between 2012-2015 serving alongside an indigenous church planting community.
Lindsey has worked at Grace since October 2015. She believes the middle school years are some of the most formative and wants each middle schooler to know the God who created them and loves them. She hopes to inspire and disciple the students at Grace to grow in their love for Christ and for their neighbors.
In her free time Lindsey can be found walking the various trails Houston has to offer, enjoying the outdoors if the weather is nice, visiting with her friends and family, participating in a yoga class, or relaxing with a cup of coffee and good book.
