End of Life Ministry

End of Life Planning, Funeral and Memorial Services

As much as we don't want to think about, talk about, or plan for the end of life, it is a reality for everyone. Grace Presbyterian is here to help you prepare for this season of life. Our staff members and professionals can help individuals and families with conversations that are uncomfortable or difficult, so they can discuss what this phase of life will bring and the personal wishes of each individual.

Planning Ahead

To ease the burden for loved ones later on, pre-planning for funeral or memorial services can be made ahead of time through the Congregational Care Office. Reviewing the resources listed below in advance will enhance the time that you spend meeting with a pastor or staff member here at Grace Presbyterian, and will give you time to prayerfully consider the elements that are important to your family as we celebrate life together.

Arranging A Service

When a death occurs, Grace Presbyterian will honor the life of our member lived here on earth as we guide families through the process, each step of the way. The documents and information on the Resources tab will help create a meaningful service for the family and guests as we give thanks to God for the life of the deceased. Please contact Denise Phelps, 713-267-5063 for more information.

In case of an emergency after working hours, the family can contact a pastor by calling the church’s main number at 713-781-7615, press the number for the pastor on call, and leave a message. That will page the pastor on call so that they can respond to the individual.

End of Life Resources

The resources listed here are a good place to start, but there is always someone willing to walk with you through this season together. It is our sincere desire to offer support, care, and love at a difficult time in life.
