    Hear updates on what's happening in the life of Grace Presbyterian Church. There will be short presentations from Equipping ministries and the Disciple cycle, the Serve team, financial information and we'll hear from the PNC on the Senior Pastor search process. Adults ages and stages classes will not meet, but children and nursery classes will meet as usual. 


  3. MARRIAGE BOOTCAMP:Refocus, Refresh, Renew
  4. Friday, September 30, 7-9 p.m. + Saturday, October 1, 9 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. 

    Do you ever feel like you are repeatedly having the same 15-year-old argument with your spouse? Or often find yourself saying “I just wish we had the same point of view.” Feeling understood, supported and appreciated in your marriage is possible. Marriage Bootcamp will give you tools to develop deeper connection and communication, skills to fight fairly and love boldly, and to understand the practices that keep love alive over a lifetime.  

    What and Where:

    This workshop will be grounded in 1 John 3:11, starts Friday evening and continues Saturday until mid-afternoon at the church. Childcare is available. It's an investment in your marriage were you'll rediscover and reconnect, all rooted in the love of Christ. 

    Who Can Attend:

    Engaged couples, newlyweds, married couples for many years...come even if your spouse is not able to attend.

    The Speaker:

    Andrea Gurney, PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist and professor of psychology at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California, where she lives with her husband and two daughters. She is a champion for relationships and has been working with couples and families in her private practice for almost two decades. She has also practiced at Harvard Medical School and Boston Children’s Hospital. Earlier this year, Dr. Gurney was selected to be one of the key seminar speakers at the ECO National Gathering at Highland Park Presbyterian Church in Dallas.     Optional: Friday evening pre-event dinner 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Moderno Tacos (10455 Briar Forest Dr). Stop by to hang out, grab dinner and a beverage on your way to the Marriage Bootcamp. 

    Retreat Cost: $40 per couple / $20 per single, Includes a workbook, snacks, and Saturday lunch

    Childcare: 

    Friday:$10 per child, 4:00-9:15 p.m. pizza dinner included (or bring your own meal for your child), ages 5th grade and under 

    Saturday:$10 per child, 8:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., chicken nugget and chip lunch included (or bring your own meal for your child), ages 5th grade and under

  5. FOR THE KIDS AND PARENTS!
  6. Children's Ministries is looking for Sunday morning leaders during the Equipping hour. What an impactful way to make a difference and be a significant voice in the children of this church. The Children's Ministries staff does all the prep and provides all the resources. You are needed to be present, share Jesus and witness childrens' lives being transformed.     Saturday, September 10- Parent's Night Out

    Parents' Night Out is a fun night out for children from birth to 5th grade from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Children will enjoy pizza, a movie, games, and snacks for only $20 per child, while parents enjoy a night out with other adults. 

    Parents are invited to gather at Kirby Ice House (1015 Gessner, 77055) from 5:30-7:30 p.m. for drinks and bites. Please let us know if you are planning to join us at Kirby Ice House by checking the box on the form. Register HERE

    Sunday, September 25-Sacraments and Sundaes

    All kids and their parents are invited to join us on Sunday, September 25, in Massey-Tucker Hall B at 12:15 p.m. for lunch, ice cream sundaes, and a special class that will explain the sacraments of baptism and communion in a very practical, hands-on way. It’s a great way to learn about the sacraments for the very first time or revisit information already learned. While designed especially for children in kindergarten through fifth grade and their parents, children and students of any age are welcome to attend with their families. Register HERE



STUFF A BUS + FINANCIAL UPDATE

Stuff A Bus

Thank you to all who contributed physically and/or financially to help with our Back To School effort. With your generosity, we met our financial goal of $4,000 and Stuffed A Bus with 200 backpacks, 165 school supply kits, 53 pairs of shoes and 120 school uniform pieces. Our school partners (Emerson Elementary, Walnut Bend Elementary and Paul Revere Middle School) are excited and so grateful for the support.

We are 62% through 2022 and have collected 52% of our goal.

CAMPUS SECURITY UPDATE

As students of all ages are back on our Grace campus (Grace School starts today) we are resuming our full security efforts in light of recent events. Our security detail is back to school hours and beyond, and you may notice a few more doors locked or directional signs posted. To access our beautiful church, the best way to enter is through the Welcome Center and porte cochere doors. Thank you in advance for helping keep all our students secure.
