COMBINED ADULT EQUIPPING CLASS



This Summer, all adults will push pause on the normal Sunday Equipping Hour to come together in Massey-Tucker Fellowship Hall, July 28–August 25, from 11 a.m. to noon. The all-adult class will meet for five Sundays starting July 28 and ending on August 25. Together, we will explore Grace’s five values.


1 – Biblical Integrity

2 – Covenant Community

3 – Wholehearted Worship

4 – Generous Living

5 – Bold Commissioning

ACTIVATE WORSHIP NIGHT



Our annual night of student-led worship is back! We hope you’ll bring your friends and family as we prepare for the upcoming school year through worship, prayer, and reflection stations. Sunday evening, August 18 at 5 p.m. in the Sanctuary. It's a great opportunity to bring friends, or have the kids bring their friends, so that everyone may gain some perspective and feel a little more centered before the craziness of the school year begins in earnest.

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. --1 Corinthians 12:4-6 (NRSV)




STUFF A BUS



In our partnership with Friends of Westchase, Grace is excited to support our local HISD schools to Stuff A Bus again this August!

Stuff A Bus is an opportunity for us to help out our Westchase families with much-needed school supplies, backpacks, hygiene items, shoes and uniforms... and kick off a new school year! Supporting students this way allows our kids and youth to start the school year on equal footing with their peers, preparing them with basic needs so they can focus on learning. Stuff A Bus will be held on August 11 between worship and the equipping hour. School supplies will be shared with students who attend Friends of Westchase partner schools--Emerson Elementary, Walnut Bend Elementary, and Paul Revere Middle School.

Our school partners have shared a great need for new shoes for school-aged children, both elementary and middle school. We will have bins placed around the church during the month of July. We will have a table set up in the Welcome Center on Sundays, July 21, 28 and August 4 and 11. Please consider sharing a pair of new shoes or financially supporting a student as they head back to school! You may make donations online HERE.

GOOD NEWS OF THE WEEK

We celebrate the things that we have offered to God that are bearing fruit-- We celebrate what God is doing!

The chaos and destruction brought by Hurricane Beryl continues to affect much of the Houston area. This has also offered the people of Grace many opportunities to serve our neighbors! This past Saturday, the Restoration Team headed out to Sugar Land to help out a former Grace employee who had a massive tree threatening her home. The team was able to cut the dangerous branches, remove the remainder of the trunk, and clear the debris. The Restoration Team, a part of Grace's Disaster Response Team, is ready to serve anyone who has been impacted by Beryl.  Even if you are doing well after the storm, please reach out to those in your circles of family and friends and check on your neighbors.
