  1. HAPPY 150TH TO GRACE PRESBYTERIAN!
  2. 150th Birthday Celebration is set for Sunday, August 23!

For 150 years, Grace Presbyterian has been a fixture of faith in Houston, and we are going to celebrate. From humble beginnings downtown through today, it's incredible to see how God has moved through this church. We mark every milestone and every life changed as we celebrate God's faithfulness, but we're even more excited about what's next. We step into the future with hope and anticipation, ready to see how God will continue to use us in the years to come.

Planning is underway to mark this exciting time in the life of Grace. Plans include our fall kick-off and the yearly Ministry Fair, a special Invite-A-Friend emphasis, a look back at our history, and we're asking you to bring a cake mix and frosting (or a few) to help us with a project blessing local schools! Much much more will be planned in the coming weeks, so be sure to circle August 23!

  3. SATURDAY SERVE
  4. Saturday, June 27
Join us as we serve breakfast to children and families receiving care through the programs at Bo's Place. We will meet at Grace at 8 a.m. (or you may meet us directly at Bo's Place), and ride over together. Bo's Place has a special mission of serving children and families who have lost a loved one, walking alongside them through the grieving process with care, support, and community. This is a meaningful opportunity to show love and encouragement to families during a difficult season. Youth are welcome to join us, accompanied by a parent. Register HERE.

  5. EPIC/BIBLE IN A YEAR
  6. The Bible in a Year program--encouraging the congregation to read the entire Bible together through the year--is coming down the home stretch, continuing through the summer. The Sunday morning EPIC class meets together each week to discuss what we've been reading and support each other as we practice the daily reading of scripture together. We use videos and other resources from The Bible Project, and the class is a discussion- based format facilitated by Grace pastors and staff. And it is a great place to meet some new friends and plug into the rhythm of Grace! Each Sunday following worship, 11 a.m. in Massey-Tucker Hall A.

GOOD NEWS OF THE WEEK

We celebrate the things that we have offered to God that are bearing fruit—We celebrate what God is doing!

One week ago, another amazing week of Vacation Bible School was wrapping up! God moved mightily throughout the week, touching the lives of the children and leaders alike. Though we don't have tangible stats on how many lives were touched, we do have a few numbers that show God's faithfulness to our efforts to glorify Him.

This year we went far above and beyond the past few years! Praise God for kids and families with big hearts. And, for a Family Ministries staff crazy enough to take a big leap of faith and pull this off! Here are the numbers we are celebrating:

1,024 Total kids, teens and adults participating in VBS

Total Kids at VBS - 639

       Non-Grace Church kids- 552

       No church kids - 300

Emerson Elementary Mentees in attendance - 21

WHAM - 653 food items donated, 675 lbs. of food!

Change 4 Change - $2,750 raised (including a generous matching gift)

Family Legacy Meal Packing - 70,000 meals packed between Sunday night and VBS week

Bibles given away - 9

THE BIBLE IN A YEAR UPDATES

The complete summer reading plan is available in the church lobby and online HERE.  Also available are the wonderful overview posters from The Bible Project to help give you a better understanding of the themes and stories in each of the books we read. They are also available online HERE, along with the accompanying videos for each book. You can do this! Whatever your situation, nothing will benefit you more than diving deeply into God's transforming Word.

HERE you will find a multitude of other resources to help you with the reading plan, including videos, podcasts, and articles to bring greater insight to what you have read. You will also find recaps and summaries of sections for times when you may fall behind. Keep up the good work!

WORSHIP THIS SUNDAY

If you are out of town or unable to be here to worship in-person this week, please join us online via the "Watch Online" link found HERE.

This Sunday we continue through the New Testament with the The Bible in a Year study, this week looking into Luke 18:35-43. There will be a Children at the Chancel time as well. And this Sunday is Father's Day--swing by the Welcome Center for our POPs-Corn bar and enjoy a treat in honor of all of the fathers and men who make our lives special. See you at 9:30 a.m.!
