  1. ACTIVATE WORSHIP NIGHT
  2. Activate 2026 is Sunday, August 9, at 5 p.m. in the Sanctuary

Activate is a night of student-led worship for the entire congregation. We invite everyone to bring their whole family and all their friends to experience evening worship orchestrated by our students. Our hearts were full last year seeing so many, young and old, join together in a night of intergenerational worship, including worshipful activities that anyone can do, little or otherwise!

  3. FALL BIBLE STUDIES
  4. INSPIRE! Women's Bible Study: September 8 - November 17
Join us on Tuesday mornings or evenings for our fall study, Come and See: An Invitation to Know and Trust Jesus More Than Ever Before, by The Daily Grace Co. We live in a world that tries to convince us that life can be found in temporary pleasures. However, in the pages of the Gospel of John, we are invited to “come and see” and to believe in the only source of true life: Jesus Christ. Order the book using this link: Come and See: An Invitation to Know and Trust Jesus More Than Ever Before

Tuesday Mornings: We meet in the Founders' Chapel at 9:30 a.m. for worship and a short lecture followed by small groups, ending at 11:30 a.m. Childcare is available. Join us for lunch after our first meeting on September 8 (cost is $15, and childcare will be extended). Register HERE.

Tuesday Evenings: We meet in MT 201 from 6:45-8:45 p.m. for a short lecture and small groups. Register HERE.

  5. HAPPY 150TH TO GRACE--BRING A FRIEND!
  6. Grace's 150th Birthday Celebration is set for Sunday, August 23!

For 150 years, Grace Presbyterian has been a fixture of faith in Houston, and we are going to celebrate. From humble beginnings downtown through today, it's incredible to see how God has moved through this church. We mark every milestone and every life changed as we celebrate God's faithfulness, but we're even more excited about what's next. We step into the future with hope and anticipation, ready to see how God will continue to use us in the years to come.

Grace Family, this is your birthday, and you can invite whomever you would like! This is a perfect opportunity to INVITE FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS, so start thinking about who you would want to step out and share the day with. We will have a look back at our history, special worship moments, games, serve opportunities, the yearly Ministry Fair, and delicious food all during our normal Sunday 9:30 a.m. worship and Equipping Hour time.

    CAKE MIX
It's a birthday party, so bring a gift! We would love you to bring funfetti icing or boxed cake mix for us to give to neighborhood schools and serve partners so everyone can make a cake and celebrate a birthday! You can bring the mixes to Grace and put them in the baskets in the Narthex, or click HERE and have it shipped right to us! Easy as pie... or cake.

    POTLUCK LUNCH CLELEBRATION
Join us for lunch in Massey-Tucker Hall and, if you wish, bring a favorite dish to share with the church family. Sign-up is required to bring food, and the cutoff date to register is Sunday, August 16. Sign up to share a dish HERE.

    GRACE COOKBOOK
Food has always been a meaningful way we connect, celebrate, and care for one another. To honor our rich history and the many memories made around the table, we are creating a commemorative church cookbook filled with treasured recipes from our congregation and community. Sign up HERE to submit your recipe!

    IMMUNIZATION FAIR
Each year, on a Sunday morning around fall kick-off, Grace offers a variety of immunizations offered to the congregation. That event will coincide with the Birthday Party on August 23. Time is 9 a.m.-12:15 p.m. in the McKechnie Dining Room (MT104)--note the event in your calendars.

GOOD NEWS OF THE WEEK

We celebrate the things that we have offered to God that are bearing fruit—We celebrate what God is doing!

One of the biggest joys in the life of Grace is celebrating the Sacrament of Baptism. We've been privileged to perform several baptisms throughout the year (and more to come)! Baptism is the sign and seal of God's covenant of grace (His promise to be our God and have us as His people), reminding us that His love claims us, in Jesus Christ, long before we ever come to know this love personally. You can read more about baptisms at Grace HERE, or contact Sharon High if you would like to schedule a baptism.

THE BIBLE IN A YEAR UPDATES

Grace's podcast--Grace Cast--is available once a month! Grace Cast includes discussions from our pastors, ministry leaders and all generations of our congregation coming together to share their thoughts, insights, tough questions and summaries on our scripture readings. The format is light and conversational. It is available HERE, and on our YouTube channel.
A new Grace Cast is available:
What does it really mean to be a disciple of Jesus? Is discipleship simply attending church and studying the Bible, or is it something deeper? In this episode of The Grace Cast, we explore Jesus' call to "follow me" and what that looks like in everyday life. Pastor John and Elder Vic Condrey discuss how discipleship is a lifelong journey of growing in faith, becoming more like Christ, and helping others do the same. Whether you're new to following Jesus or have been walking with Him for years, this conversation offers practical encouragement to take your next step. Join us as we unpack what it means to live as a disciple—not just on Sundays, but every day.

HERE you will find a multitude of other resources to help you with the reading plan, including videos, podcasts, and articles to bring greater insight to what you have read. You will also find recaps and summaries of sections for times when you may fall behind. Keep up the good work!
